Hi, my name is Johnny Sudiyanto, I am the owner of Sangalaki Resort in the preservation island run by government called Sangalaki island, where The Island is dedicated to preserve the island most precious animal, baby Turtles, which continuously coming to reproduce eggs and lays it under the sands until it’s hatched. Sangalaki island is located 3 hours by boat from Tarakan island, in north of Borneo or Kalimantan Utara, Indonesia. It’s taking 2 hours and 30 minutes flights from Jakarta, 2 hours 30 minutes from Surabaya and 2 hours and 50 minutes from Bali island. Sangalaki Island has an area covering 15.9 hectares, located in the Derawan Islands, Berau Regency, East Kalimantan. It has a flat coastal plain morphology unit. The island has a shallow lagoon under sand and overgrown with coral and sea grass. The sand beach has a width of 12-15 meters with a slope between 6°-11° with the material making up the beach in the form of coral fragments and the dominant size is coarse sand. In the surrounding waters there is a marine park and is famous for diving tourism. There is a wide variety of marine life here, the most famous of which are the manta rays. Manta rays usually flock in the waters of this island and can gather up to 20 rays on a bright moon. They head to this island to find food in the form of various types of plankton that are widely found in these waters. In Sangalaki Resort, you will find 10 cottages comprising single and twin rooms, surrounded by white sandy beach, where the relaxing island is surrounded by lush beautiful forests. Diving and Snorkling are the most suggested stuff to be done, where we also offers you nice boat heading to some best diving places such as Channel Entrance, Coral Gardens, Turtle Town, Sandy Ridge, Manta Run, Sherwood Forest, Manta Parade, Manta Avenue, Eel Ridge, Lighthouse and The Rockies.
